Replacement windscreen No.4!
This happened today when my daughter was driving. Covered her and the inside with small shards of glass. Lucky no one was in the passenger seat.

Anyway, Admiral have authorised a genuine LR screen.

What a disaster! I have never seen a stone hit the windshield of such magnitude, fortunately your daughter is fine💪 and a point in favor of your insurance!! Take care of yourselves!!👍🏼

What a pain for your daughter and you! Must have been quite a stone.
I've just had a screen cracked with a piece of debris on the bottom centre of the screen. I am insured with Admiral and the screen is being replaced by Autoglass next week. I haven't asked Admiral to confirm that the replacement will be a Landrover one.
Has anyone had any problems with a screen from Autoglass and anything to watch out for?

Thanks. Daughter is fine. Not much phases my kids.

As for screens, i've had two Autoglass own brand screens. They seem to be Ok, but what shocked me today were the splinters. I've had many screen incidents in my time and never seen that. Hence why I asked Admiral to fit a genuine screen.

Whatever hit it, was chunky and did so with force.

Yes, check your FitcamX.
Those glass splinters inside worry very much, the glass is much too thin. No Mud flaps for my 90.!

It was a very quiet country road a mile from home. Still a mystery. The only other car was coming towards her.

Anyway, now in Autoglass and Land Rover for the new screen. Eiger Grey MY23 D250 SE with bits. Known as Noddy.

Only 1 week after picking up my new 110, a bus went through a big puddle at 60mph coming in opposite direction. and utterly machine gunned my whole front end with stones. Bulkhead, headlight, and bonnet were damaged but the windscreen was destroyed. I and my passenger was covered in glass like yours was. Needless to say, the bus got away with it and I was left to pay the damages. To see the inside cabin covered in glass was a shock.

After reading this I have decided to use the ShutterX nano tech to get the windscreen protected.
It was very expensive (50 quid) for 2 wipes. I don’t know if it is a scam but I have seen a few YouTuber talking how good it was…don’t know if they were paid to tell that story.
However I see some of the reputable dealers around they sell this product as well… probably costing them 2 pounds🤪.

l would be very surprised if a product that is sprayed or wiped on to a windscreen will make it any less susceptible to stone damage, whether or not it was endorsed on Youtube.

Glad the family is ok. That looks like an impact from a piece of metal, not stone. The square shape at top of the impact crater looks like the flat edge of a large nut or hex head bolt.only something that dense could cause impact damage like that. Bit concerning how thin the glass is...

That's a hell of a whack! Shocked

Maybe something launched off a vehicle working in a field?
