I can't help with a transfer box, but they might find some help from a specialist:

Yes, sorry I didn’t realise that they were passing through and that’s where they were taken.

I seem to remember there are a couple of good indies up around Lausanne. Defender 2 member DeeEss (is he still around) might be able to help.
Or, go onto YouTube or Instangram and PM OffTRackFamily, a swiss family of Defender owners who have a strong on-line following. But equally important, they do a lot of their own repairs, maintenance and mods, so will know loads of good suppliers and garages. https://www.youtube.com/c/OffTrackFamily https://www.instagram.com/offtrackfamily/?hl=en If there's nothing available in switzerland, one option would be that they call Accroland. https://www.accro-land.fr/ It's in Sallanches, France, approx 90-120mins from Lausanne. Might seem an odd suggestion, but the guy has a massive stock of spares, so might have what they're after. If he does, they can hire/borrow a car for a couple of days and go and pick it up. It's as about as good an indie as can be found within a few hundred kms, and the price difference between buying in Switzerland and France might make the effort worth it. PM me if you do the Accroland Sallanches option, as I live 10mins away and can help with translation etc if need be. . Good luck. Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |

That is very kind of you all for the help.
They are back home now and the car is being repatriated in the next couple of days. That is what the AA wanted to do in the end. Many thanks again … |
