Master brake cylinder: Lucas 74471201 vs 74471207
Dear friends. This is my first post here. Thanks in advance for your help. I am looking for the master brake cylinder for my Defender 110 TD5 and according to the information in the pump tank, the original part number is 74471201, Lucas. A local store is offering me the 74471207, Lucas too. What I found is the 74471207 is for Discovery 2. At the store, they told me it is the same, but I would like to have your feedback. I am not a mechanic, I only can say they look the same. Thanks

Defender TD5, 110, 2006, ABS, LHD

Regards.

I believe the Land Rover part number you require is LR013017 (assuming LHD is the same as RHD as there is no differentiation on the parts diagram). Assuming those part numbers you are quoting are the Lucas numbers?

I am not sure if the physical master cylinder part of the Discovery 2 part is the same but they have totally different plastic reservoirs on top.

Yes I did, but the part numbers are different. That confuses me too. The original is Lucas 74471201 and the one on those diagrams is LR013018, and the one at my local store is 74471201.

Thanks.

Thanks Steve. You are right, plastic reservoirs are different.
