United States 2010 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Santorini Black
I sincerely wished I lived somewhere that anyone was familiar with this vehicle and the 2.4. Since new in 2010 at highway speeds in the USA west cast (Southern California) this car has overheated, I’ve chased down literally everything. Changed to a larger intecooler, new radiator, electric fan vs viscous and I still have the same Censored issues. I think for me it’s the expectations I pit on it. 80 MPH uphill is normal here in 25-35 degree days but it smokes that vehicle. Especially if towing anything at all.

It’s been like this since new, 130k km, rebuilt engine twice, 3 turbos and just a Censored ton of problems. Love the car but it’s now only allowed around town. Again I’m sure it’s something small but I just don’t care to break down anymore in it.

Do you have a raised air intake?

They are known turbo killers and certainly won't help in the hot climate 2016 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 TDV8

There are uprated radiators available and lower opening temperature thermostasts. Plus removal of the oil cooler thermostat (in case yours has it).

Thanks guys! I do have the rai plus the actual snorkel kit attached from that German company…. Thinking of name but they make insane nice parts for defender. I’ll look to remove it and go back to stock. Been on since day one!! I do not believe I have oil cooler sensor. Just the one at the back of cylinder head.
