When did you last change your gearbox oil ? If not recent I would do that first, it’s a simple job with lots of info on here on how to do. When changing see if any metal particles come out, noting the MT 82 does have an internal magnet so that may catch fragments and you won’t see them in drained oil. Also measure the amount of oil you drain. For a 2.4 you should get 2.2 litres, for a 2.2 you will likely get 2.4 litres. Low volume of drained oil points to a leak or if drained previously then insufficient fill. High volume of drained oil indicates over fill. Both can cause issues.
Once changed with a quality oil of correct specification and volume see if the issue continues. If it does it could be a synchro issue between 5th and 6th. Alternatively it could be the gear shift mechanism, but I would expect that would not just impact the shift from 5 to 6. If you double the clutch does it shift from 5 to 6 ok ? Before doing above I would contact Ashcroft transmissions to get their views. They are a site sponsor so member “ashtrans” may spot this post and respond here.
