Rear position lights
Hello All,

Does anyone know how I can get the rear position lights to be on with the DRLs.

I have this on my D5, and it is really useful as it turns on the position lights on my horse trailer while I am towing without having to turn the main lights on etc.

Thanks for you help!!

Nick

Turn the side lights on and then you’ll have position lights front and rear.

I know that 😁

I would have just liked the rear lights to be all the time like on my D5

I have done this mod, that you require.

So the lights on the front are White until you put the Amber indicator on.

The rear, smaller lamps are Red whilst the "ignition" is on, WITHOUT the larger lamps being on and the inner portion flash Amber with indicators.

Yes, you can turn on the sidelamps, BUT you get both smaller lamps AND the larger lamps on.

What you require is to cut into the rear lamp cluster, where you will find a 5-wire cable form that links the two circuit boards which control the smaller and larger lamps.

I can NOT advise anyone to do the same, as if you don't know what you are doing you could destroy both sets of lamp clusters.

Sorry.

Thanks, but that would only turn in the rear lights on the car… it wouldn’t turn on the lights on a trailer.

On the D5, there were settings in the CCF that can determine this type of thing. Does this not exist on the Defender?

Why not just turn the lights on to turn the trailer lights on? Eiger Grey MY23 D250 SE with bits. Known as Noddy.

Somewhere in my past, I seem to remember, that the Freelander 2 had such a link in the ccf for the Japan market. ???

I know that I could just turn them on and off manually... it is more a case that I have Auto Headlights and am used to simply relying on that...

On the Discovery 2 it was the SWEDEN setting that had this.

I don't know which setting it is... sorry.

I was told by LR that it is a regional setting, and since the wiring will be the same for all regions, I was HOPING that it can be changed on my Def.
