United Kingdom 2011 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 USW Stornoway Grey
110 rear quarter panel replacement

Hi all,

Anyone had the pleasure of replacing the rear quarter panel on the 110?
MY11 puma to be exact.

Had a quote for replace and respray of £3k plus vat!

I am aware of the spot welding and have a brother with one but wouldn't know what is involved.

TIA

One of those paintless dent removal people would do the job.

The likely hood that the aluminium has stretched is very high, so a dent repair might be very difficult.

Spot welding aluminium requires a special special spot welder, although I have tried the trick of putting steel sheet metal between the tips of the welder and the aluminium to spot weld with success. You would also need a welder with very large reach.

Hence the easier and possibly as good method is to glue in the new panel. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing

Britannia restorations changed one prob a year or two ago on his channel, made it look simper, but was not a full replacement Searching for my first Defender...and started just as Covid hit, so talk about timing.

5 months after starting the search I found it, and here is the details
