my gran used use cheap beer, that would attract the slugs. My mate did with a failed batch of home brew too. Might be worth looking into? Just a couple of cans of the supermarkets finest. Smart price crap etc.

Thanks for reply always find this forum helpful wealth of experience on here, I'll do some Google searching about the using cheap beer mathods
Seen another post online about using vinegar. Need to do something about it some of them are huge and can't halve leave a snail trail  |

Another method I've heard of is copper tape around pots. No idea if it works though 2007 - Stornoway Grey 90 XS SW - Gone

Probably a good idea are at a outbuilding close to house where we feed the cats and they would go for the cats dishes at night which we now lift each night before darkness to keep their pots clean same with dogs pots in another shed
So could thinking if I buy this copper tape off feed pots it would save me needing to lift them all the time It's mainly old stone buildings we have here and theyll stay in crevices through daytime then come out at night I'm wondering if there's a non toxic thing I could fill a knapsack sprayer with and cover walls and floors to clear them out |

I took this photo last night (that's in what we call feeding house have barley bruiser in there so cant use anything poisonous)
Can see the sheer amount of slime residue over the wooden board one of circuit breakers is on and a slug will be others easily three times the size of that!!!  |

A brine or very salty water solution might work as a non toxic (not to the slugs) spray to get any slugs that hiding in crevices and cracks. Craig.

Depending upon the mortar in joints between stone and also stone type? It might cause you an additional problem with salt damage to stone or mortar if solution of salt is sprayed on there?

Have a look on ebay or Amazon for "Beer Slug Trap".
£12 or £13 for 12 of them. We've used them a lot in the garden and they work really well |

Nematode natural control

Other than that a disposable glove, pick them up, put them in a pot or box and then relocate them somewhere else well away from where you want them. Was about to recommend what Custom90 just did. I've used this company as it comes in a proper cooled packaging. Amazon also sells it but I never got the sense that the product was kept refrigerated prior to being shipped out.

Using the product linked has helped greatly. Last year I was then hit with snails in an epic way where it a complete potted plant was eaten in a single evening. I resorted to using beer in a bowl near my pots which attracted not only the snails but also slugs. |

Only problem with this is, given they know how to find my place, and their love of beer, I'm probably knocking off my reincarnated relatives. |

Our runner ducks used to do a good job eating slugs. Only have khaki campbells now, they don't seem so interested.

They probably aren’t quite hungry enough.
