The parts guy said they had none in stock, however according to the JLR parts system the Freelander 2 (2.2) filter, part number LR001247 was the equivalent and fits the defender Puma 2.2. If you look at your picture of the actual filter it has LR001247 ( not LR030778) printed on it.

I was not happy with this as the filter does not look as robust, I.e no hard plastic at either end and filter material does not look as good, so I was not paying a premium for a Lr one when a Febi filter specified for the Puma 2.2 looked like the LR030778 and was far cheaper.

So looks like they have been disingenuous and put a LR001247 filter in a LR030778 box ! They may say it’s equivalent as it does fit, but it is not the same in construction.

Having said all that it will fit and no doubt work ok, but I think LR have pulled a fast one !
