Toyota already sell bucket loads of the current LC Prado in Oz so nothing will change there. At least the new one looks half decent, rather than the awful jelly mould shapes of the recent incarnations. And now with 3.5 tonne towing capacity it looks like a good evolution of the existing car.

"I have a deposit down on the new Land Cruiser"

Only five “First Edition” models have been allocated for the whole of France, they’ll be allocated by lottery. Anyone interested is required to pay a deposit of 1,000 euro to be entered in the draw, the five lucky winners will have the opportunity to buy one. The losers will be reimbursed their 1,000 euro of course, but I imagine Toyota is hoping people will just use it as deposit for a future version.

Looks like the UK is only getting the two top spec trim levels and not a 'base' offering. A lot more expensive than I thought it was going to be, assuming the info is correct that is!

I've just had a quite £75k invincible £80k first edition. That's landcruiser money not prado money. Crying or Very sad

I do like the first edition in sand - but those prices are steep. I’ll be sticking with my classic 110 until I get too old to drive a manual etc

£80k for a Toyota seems a lot. Even more considering what the previous model cost.

But, just like the Defender, people will be falling over themselves to buy one, paying over the odds, accepting any old colour or spec that the manufacturer deigns to supply. Although, let's be honest, NO car manufacturer could ever be as bad as JLR has recently proved themselves to be...

Happy to be proven wrong. But I doubt it. Toyota sold somewhere in the region of b ugger all for the previous model. And I’m willing to bet supply is highly limited for the new one. I wouldn’t bank on seeing many in the U.K. And not because they are popular.

Bit like the GR86 coupe. It sold out in 90 mins….. all 12 or whatever it was Toyota decided to import that year!
