Be careful when you're doing it that you don't move the DSC sensor ring as it is a pain to get back in sync afterwards and might mean a trip to a garage with the ODB kit to reset it.
If you gently lever the centre 'pad' up, it will effectively hinge up and give you access to the steering column nut. |

Keep the nut on slightly loose also when you go to take it off so it doesn’t hit you in the face.
There is a torque setting for the nut in the WSM. The splines are small, so a pain to count a little pointed tool is useful. ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️ |

You can remove the nut and count the splines without removing the steering wheel. Yours should be 48.
See https://www.web-rover.co.uk/articles-steeringwheels.html. Nut torque is 43Nm, 22mm socket, a thin walled 6pt is best. But, as others have said, you need to be very careful when removing the wheel and Changing it as even slightly disturbing the DSC sensor ring can require the system to need recalibration with appropriate diagnostic tools. |

This video explains all. The unit on the left with the blue plastic ring is the ring non DSC Puma owners see when removing the steering wheel. The unit on the right with the grey plastic ring is for DSC Puma’s. You will see the grey plastic ring when you remove the wheel. Do not be tempted to rotate it.
