It’s a regulatory requirement for new vehicles I believe. Whether the regulations say it can’t be disabled or not I’m not sure.
It can be disabled permanently in the vehicle software with the right kit, there are companies offering this service. I’ve not seen anyone figure out how to do it DIY with an IIDTool yet sadly. |

You can navigate to your custom setting by just pressing the DAS button twice on the left hand side of the steering wheel controls. Yes you have to do it every time on start up but it’s just two quick presses and you are good to go. To set your custom settings press the same DAS button for one long press and then set your preferences on the main screen under custom. Sadly as other have said it is now mandatory for all new 2024 cars, however there are companies that will ‘code’ it out if required. |

That just links to a google search of forums discussing the problem.
You said there are companies offering the service of disabling the system. I can't find any companies offering this service so I wonder if you could please point me to the companies you know offer this service? Thanks. |

How does the vehicle know the speed limit for any road. ?
Is it by Road Sign Recognition then it's the camera that is picking up 'stray' signs. I get a reading of 10mph each time I pass a left hand turn into a small industrial estate, although I haven't actually turned left ! Also the it will not correct the 'true' limit until it reads another sign. I have fitted a separate display that tells my actual speed by monitoring multiple satellites. |

A combination of the cameras picking up signs and the sat nav database information.
