If the engine is cranking over fast but the crank position sensor id only reading 280 rpm then that or the wiring is your likely culprit.
I doubt that if the ECU only senses 280 rpm it will inject any diesel for risk of flooding it. When you look for a CPS then buy a decent brand or a good second hand item. Part number should be NSC100790G but check LR Workshop before you buy. |

With Nanocom you can check the injectors output od engine ECU - it sounds like big metalic click. Just test all 5 injectors.
Are you sure, you have enough fuel? "Drobek" = The Small One - Discovery 2, "Blufínek" = The Blue Thing - Defender 130, and for me at least Ford Mondeo |

Yes, half tank of fuel, pulled the pump to check and all good. Had a new FPR last year. All injectors fire off correctly on Nanocom. Had a new Hella starter motor a couple of months ago when the original starter broke down internally.
Ordered a genuine Lucas crank position sensor and wiring overlay, will see what happens when fitted. |

Did you try starting with full throttle? Or some start spray to air intake? "Drobek" = The Small One - Discovery 2, "Blufínek" = The Blue Thing - Defender 130, and for me at least Ford Mondeo

Also check the 3 relays under the driver's seat. My 2005 Td5 suddenly wouldn't start (was cranking but not firing) and replacing the relays completely solved the problem. I'm unsure which one it was because I just replaced all 3. One is the main relay and one is the fuel pump relay (can't remember what the third one is from memory). 2005 Td5 | 90 Station Wagon | Tonga Green
