Door Blind Spot indicator
I've had my Defender 110 for a year next week and only just realised I don't seem to have the Door Blind Spot indicator that I thought was included in the HSE. ( I happened to be watching a review of the V8 and the guy mentioned it as a cool feature).

there is a blanking plate on both the drivers and passenger door where it looks like it should be.

therefore I assume this got dropped off the spec due to supply chain challenges?

also I am sure there was meant to be something for the rear passengers if they open a car door and a vehicle or cyclist is approaching. Again, I get nothing.

was I dreaming it or is it just another thing missing from my vehicle?

My MY2022 SE has the small warning screens on each door to warn about cyclists etc so maybe it was one of the things that got dropped Neutral Cheers Ian

Ian

I have checked my door and I have what looks to be a blank plate near the electric window controls.

mine is a MY23 HSE so looks like it was another hit not mentioned by the dealer Sad

I am assuming its automatic and you dont have to set it up - grabbing at straws Big Cry

My 24 model HSE is also missing this feature.
Is it something that is possible/viable to retrofit? Does it run of the same sensors as the regular blindspot assist which I do have? 2025 Defender 130 V8

I seem to remember (I think) Marco (mmbanf) asked me about it and he looked into retro fitting it but decided against it. Cheers Ian

The part 14C714 seems to be the thing. But are there connectors for it already in the door is the question...

The connectors are already in the door. Blind spot indicators are different for the left and right side

I've already thought about retrofitting. The part numbers are LR098327 for the left side and LR098321 for the right side. I also saw something in the CCF list (MultiCAN-680 ClearExitDetectionSystem- Not fitted) but due to lack of time I haven't made any progress with it yet. Thanks to Paladino we now know that the necessary plugs are already there, although we don't know if this is the case for all MJs. What still needs to be clarified is whether the covers for the blind spot indicators have to be changed or whether a suitable hole can be cut in the existing covers so that they can be inserted. 23.5MY Defender 110 D250 HSE

I don't think that you can cut holes - the trim with the clear exit option has the place where you clip the leds.

I found 4 sets at a breaker in my country which I ordered. Both new covers with all the correct buttons and switches for my car plus the Clear exit indicator with cable in them already. Total price for all 4 doors less than £170 so worth a try..
Will see how I get on. Hopefully my iid tool g3 can handle the simple coding. Thanks a lot for the CCF info in the thread.

The cover piece was what was giving me a headache. Look how many variants there are

Update.

Ok. So I can reveal that not all cars have the connectors in the doors for the Clear exit indicator. Mine doesn't.... Maybe I should have checked before buying the parts Laughing

If anyone that has the connector is interested in them let me know.

My car was built autumn 2023 110 p400e HSE with all options (well, obviously they skipped some...).

Compared to one with connector. Should be to the right on the white bracket or around there. Wasn't hiding in the loom either on mine.
