Ironically, the one on the left is now often more of a posers car than the one on the right..

I'm inclined to agree with much of that sentiment.

I love the Puma, and previous Defenders, as well as the Series vehicles; however, I'm impressed with how good the new 90 is, specifically in hardtop form. I know others will disagree but it does retain a charm that most modern 4WD vehicles lack. Not a vehicle I would argue you buy with your heart, where as the Puma (and older) were (at least in my case); however, it certainly isn't purely a head decision either. What I do know is it feels chunky on the road, will do more than I need it to do, has a charm/personality that is missing from so many modern cars and is a great place to do long miles in.
