Having paid the £700 option when ordering new, I opted for the matrix lights. After having them a year now, I can honestly say, I wish I hadn't bothered. They aren't that good. My wifes VOLVO XC60 has way better matrix light system and that is 6 yrs old now.

Same. I'm really disappointed with the Matrix lights. My XC90s were leagues ahead.

Perhaps Moo and I are just spoilt after driving with Volvo's version. If you've never driven with matrix before then I'd assume they would be perfect for you. But when a 6 yr old car out performs a brand new car, you have to ask questions 110 D250 SE HT

Appreciate what your saying, never had the matrix lights, just thought they be a good upgrade over the premium as there higher wattage and I don’t want to start adding additional spotlights or light bars for more light. I live in the middle of nowhere so thought may be good on the lanes etc My 24 HSE X-Dynamic 90 Carpathian Grey |

If you read some posts on here you’d think it come with candles. I’ve got them on my current 90 and they’re decent lights, but I’ve only owned LR, some manufacturers are excessively bright. I haven’t ordered them this time as I don’t do massive miles in the dark, so not worth the extra expense, the premium lights are good enough. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue

I like them. I haven’t had them before so yes, I can’t compare with others. They are more than adequate for legal speeds on UK roads and who wants to burn out other drivers’ retinas a mile away? I use them on auto generally and haven’t been flashed by anyone yet so they seem to work well in that respect. I also drive in local lanes but the auto function switches to dip below about 25mph so then I raise them to main beam manually. |

My P400 S only has the basic headlights. They are ok but I’ll be seeking out the premium ones. O want the signature light ring. If anyone is AUS is parting with some - hit me up.

I got a free upgrade to the signature drl’s matrix lights when I bought my 23 Defender as they had no standard matrix lights available. Can’t say I’ve noticed them anything but bright. I wouldn’t pay extra but for free I’ll take them over standard.

I have them and I find them great, like J77 I've always had Land Rovers so can't compare them to anything else but most of my driving is done on unlit country roads and I can't fault them at all. I'd be interested to hear what makes Volvo's version so much better Cheers Ian

Volvo's are really fast to react and super bright. The LR matrix lights are slow and really dim in comparison.
Mine frustrate me because I know what good looks like. Eiger Grey MY23 D250 SE with bits. Known as Noddy. |

The premium and matrix light units are known for failures in the DRLs. I’ll stick to my standard ones thanks - which are very good.
I’ve yet to find it hard work to flick the stalk one way or the other to avoid blinding other drivers. Unlike many sadly. |
