Mine had done 20k at 1 year old. Racked up a fair few motorway miles driving to Hove every weekend for the past year. All fixed now. Not sure of the exact issue but the tensioner was slack and belt was clean break as opposed to shredded as others the AA chap had seen. Had service due so they did that while it was in. Brake pads/discs and wheels all still plenty of wear left which was nice to know. https://instagram.com/bentheoandrews |

Mine (D250 2021, 12.5k miles) had the chirping noise after cold start. Also stop/start would fail. Needed a shut down to re-start the engine. Reported to the dealer, mid March before they could take the car in for investigation. Called LR assist and the AA arrived within an hour. Diagnosed belt tensioner pulley (he had seen several others). I was about to take the caravan away for the weekend. He advised against that and arranged a loan car (with tow bar) with LR assist. Drove to the dealer and drove out with a Disco 5 X Tech HSE loan car with 15 miles on the clock. I would be happy to keep that car for as long as necessary.
As you would expect mine was repaired within a few days. New belt tensioner and belt. Stop/start was resolved with a new battery. All under warranty. Excellent response from LR assist and the JLR dealer. |

Aaaaaaaand the squeak is back. Belt/tensioner not gone again (yet). Luckily booked in for replacement suspension arms on Tuesday so they're going to have another crack at it. https://instagram.com/bentheoandrews

Yep I've had two fitted, the 1st one was done as a recall at around 9k miles and it failed at 14k miles. It's been OK since Cheers Ian -------------------- 22MY Defender 110 D200 SE, Fuji White. Kielder 4x4 Safari Instagram @defender_v8 |
