Thanks Clayton.

It’s always a relief when you have the ‘winning ticket’ in your hand 🤪

The advisory relates to signs that the 20 year old flexible brake pipes might benefit from a closer looking at in the near future - so open to suggestions there too! 👍

Yes I’ve been looking at the BF Goodrich s/s hoses - very nice.
Also had my eye on the Gwyn Lewis (Llama 4x4) offering.

Methinks I will be updating you shortly Clayton…

I’ve now ordered the GL hoses as everything I have had from GL has been robust, durable, well-engineered, and more than fit for purpose 👍👍👍👍👍

Having said that, replacing them is on my very long to do list, but it’s not at the top, so it may be some time…

Lovely jubbly.

My wife said it’s not ‘normal’ to get so excited about such things - well I’m not normal so that’s fine.

I’ll let you know how I get on with them 👍

Is anyone who chooses to own a Defender considered normal?

I mean, I appreciate we are the normal ones and that everyone else is abnormal, but when normality is judged by majorities, I guess we luck out... The Yeti - 110 Camper https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic90308.html

Indeed.

Being normal is overrated.

My excitement increased further when a couple of other related items arrived #sadoldgit

Well…
It was MOT day today, and can you guess what happened as I drove off on that terrifying journey.

Yes, non return valve number 2 decided to give up.

Thankfully, and as many of you decided to do many moons ago, I simply removed it and connected it ‘straight through.’

It’s as if my Defender knows it’s going somewhere it doesn’t want to be. Last year my ABS modulator failed on the day of the MOT.

Most importantly, it was a ‘pass’ today with only one minor advisory (not the washers!).

Need to think about whether I fit an ‘enhanced’ NRV or just titivate my last-minute botch up this morning. 🤪

I know I didn’t need one really…but this should do the trick 👍

Is that a fuel NRV? Then it may not last very long. Ask me how I know :/ https://www.kraxlr.de/makingof.html#washer

Oops Whistle

Thanks for flagging. Only time will tell. The product literature did suggest it can be used in this application, but your experience is probably more accurate.

Still, having gone through 2 OEM NRV’s I think plan D is to reinstall the straight through connector Rolling with laughter
