Part number is LR006865, a cool £370 or thereabouts (note my comment above).

I remember looking a while back when I did mine, typical ripoff mark up from Land Rover. Denso or genuine Ford were a fraction of the cost. WARNING.

This topic is worth a read, it covers PRV replacement, however in the end it seems it was not a PRV but VCV issue.

Unclip the fuel return hose off the back off the PRV then crank it. If the PRV is spewing fuel then it's gone and needs replacing (it is a friction fit ball bearing that pops out so not resettable)

I am inclined to agree I would change the VCV again for known genuine trustworthy one (read here https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic85644.html)

Read my post here about a costly wild goose chase that turned out to be a VCV https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic53240-245.html > 110 XS Double Cab

You could try febi bilstein 46366 for the PRV/OPV/PLV/howisitcalled. (~90€ online)

Workshop manual says:
Quote:
The pressure limiting valve opens at a fuel pressure of approximatly 2000 bar. It serves as a safety device in the case of malfunctions in the high-pressure system, preventing damage due to excessive pressure. The valve operates as a disposable unit and must be replaced after a single trigger, as the valve can no longer be guaranteed leak-free.

"faulty VCV" = "malfunctions in the high-pressure system"...

I'm not sure if this is as a result of depressurisation on the high side, or something else, but it drives as fine as it usually does (another story) and usually restarts fine, although sometimes can briefly reoccur even after a short period of being off.

This erratic behavior actually points to the VCV. Possibly also the crankshaft sensor.

The VCV does cause very erratic behaviour, I do know for a fact that my last one was killed of by moisture or some water in fuel…
I know because I used a fuel station I have never used since as a one off, after filling up there a couple of days later it cut out after being started multiple times and things like that.
It was definitely after filling up at that fuel station, and a new VCV and fuel from another fuel station cured it.
I used up most of the fuel with the old VCV first, but there must have been water in the diesel, that I do know as a fact, and it killed the VCV. Rolling Eyes

Probably leaky old underground forecourt tanks I expect. ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️
