I have noticed a few sellers on FleaBay selling all black L663 90 side steps. They say they are UK made.
Anyone purchased a set? Is so, what are they like? I do not like the bright finish on the OEM side steps. Hence the query

Not good… but mine are ABS plastics and Aluminium Alloy so that’s not going to happen.
Also at the cost they are easily replaced 5 times over if required. 
JLR do not make sidesteps. They only buy them in so Genuine means nothing. Clemmo Make today a little better than yesterday but not so good as tomorrow.... That must be why all their bolt on accessories last so long

You're right, certainly on the old model Defender.
l fitted aftermarket side steps to my 2022 Defender. They were the same as OE except the step is some kind of plastic although it's very tough. Eventually l obtained a set of used genuine LR steps and fitted those. There's not much difference tbh. l certainly wouldn't pay £800 for genuine. They also want £325 +VAT to fit them...
Average DIYer can do each side in less than an hour Make today a little better than yesterday but not so good as tomorrow....

The Ebay ones at £200 are absolutely fine and l've actually got four spare genuine LR steps.
So if you buy the aftermarket tubes and want to fit genuine alloy steps to them l can sell you a pair for £50 each. |
