I was searching for the rescue blueprints for the latest Defender. These rescue sheets do help firefighters and rescue teams quickly find batteries, gastank etc.
What I find interesting is that there are 2 batteries shown on the Defender 110 model these sheet are made by LR and Modi Tech Rescue Solutions. Are there 2 batteries built in or does Land Rover sell this as an option? Could the second battery possibly be one for the stop/start system? I know when I had a later Discovery it had two batteries fitted, one for normal car duties and one for the stop/start system. Cheers Ian

To be honest, I think the mild hybrid bit is just a posh stop/start system. It doesn’t seem to do anything else.
Has anyone actually measured the volts on the rear battery? Is it 48v? Or is there a transformer in the system to up the volts to the stater? Problem is, there is no readily available technical info out there. 2021 Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE D300 MHEV 1966 S2a 109 aka Betsy 1968 S2a 88 aka Bob 2014 Jaaaag F Type 3.0 Supercharged. |

The MHEV system is a posh stop/start, with a belt integrated starter generator on the engine with is part of the 48v system.
All the info is in the workshop manual on Topix. The basics are in the user guide. |

Hi I am new in this forum but highly interrested in a upgrade on my Defender 110 (D200 /2021 MEHV). I want do use my refrigerator also If I am NOT driving... And it looks I can not use any Batteries installed by the factory. So I need to run 2 second (Beside Start and 48V MEHV) Or Is there a way to force the 48 V system to charge fully ....
Has anyone alredy done a dual battery set up? |

Why do you say that when the MHEV is specifically stated to power the super charger during acceleration. Isn’t that it’s main purpose? |

On the I6 D200/D250/D300 engines the MHEV is just a posh stop/start, but yes on the P400 it has the electric supercharger.
P400s are quite rare over here as we (thankfully) get the diesel engine options. |

The 48v battery is not just for start stop, with the belt driven starter/ generator, when accelerating it drives the starter motor to assist the engine and reduce the vehicle emissions. This is what a MHEV is all about. 110 XS 250 MY 23 Gondwana Stone, Cold climate pack and towbar
