Where to position Roof Tent
Hi Folks

Just wondering where am i meant to be positioning my roof tent on my roof rack. Do I located it where the hinge section is at the edge of the rack, Am I meant to use some of the rack as support for the folded down section, am I overthinking it as usual Whistle Laughing

Which roof tent do you have?

Ultimately it should be centred on the rack for weight distribution.

The hinge should be as close to the edge of the rack as is practical. That way allows you to use an annex below. Darren

Ah yes, that makes sense. I plan on getting an annex. Thanks LandRoverAnorak. I'll mount it there so

if sideways, or I find if you put it all the way at the back you can use the annex right at the back door giving you inside access. This is even nicer with the split gate on the LR3/4.

I hear the argument about weight distribution, but for a weekend away we never loaded to a point I felt the back was unduly strained by the weight of the tent.

I'd love to have it over the back put i'd like to get a 270Deg awning also Smile First world problems lol

that's true I'm only going to have it on when I need it and could try my best to even out the weight distribution
