Hose rubbing on air filter canister
After Land Rover Assist flagged this issue and advised repair "at the earliest opportunity" l tried to get my local dealer, Sytner, to sort it.
They didn't replace the canister, just fitted a new hose.

I had to eventually fit the part myself because the dealer couldn't look at it again for over two months. I thought l would try to get the £110 that the part cost, back from Land Rover but sadly not.

They stated that the modified part wasn't necessary so they wouldn't pay for it. lt was only £110 so no big deal, but l guess l expected more, having spent £55,000.

l did send photos before and after the new part was fitted, and the temporary repair done by LR Assist.

UPDATE

After raising a complaint and sending the photos again l eventually received a refund for the part.

Replacement part which l had to fit myself, parts dept said "no modified part exists" and l said "order it anyway" this is what arrived.
At least it's fixed

Parts dept guy said that if a part has been superseded or modified then it comes up on the system, but nothing was coming up.

l am more disappointed with Land Rover not offering any refund. After all l saved their service dept having to fit it, which would likely have cost Land Rover over £100 plus the part.

Does anyone know if this was an official recall or warranty replacement item and if so, is there a reference or technical bulletin for it?

I don’t believe it was a recall or even a TSB. My February built D250 came with the modified filter box from the factory. The chaffed through hose would have been a warranty item on your car but I suspect JLR would prefer to just keep on replacing that hose than to do a proper job.
Might be worth asking on the JLR twitter/ X page why the box isn’t a replacement under warranty item. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed!

Would it only be the Land Rover dealer that would have that, or would my independent LR garage have the information?

That’s the recall for a pipe from the turbo, to another pipe down the back of the bulkhead, and to replace a plastic Elbow, with a metal one.

I’ll try and find the SSM tomorrow

Service fixed for my hose rubbed. No official racall
Hi guys,
this morning our Genoa Land Rover dealer, check the hose rubbed:
- they check for an official LR recall action, and they say there isn't.
- they verify the hose rubbed, a little scratched... but decide to change the hose and do something ( I don't know what Question ) with the air filter cover.

(I understood ...they ordered the hose)

The problem is not so urgent; I fixed for the first week of November.

I will inform you about the work done.

What’s the replacement part number? My hose was replaced too but the new one is touching the canister as well, so just going to swap it out.
