United Kingdom 2014 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 USW Aintree Green
That is really a true spirit tale and glad you are getting sorted. Thumbs Up

Like some other mechanical parts the EGR cooler is another when not if point of failure, I dunno if it's an old school thought process but newer cooling systems shouldn't really loose any fluid, we just check and top up without much thought as to where or why it's vanishing.

I say this as I too went for a good year with a small top up of coolant every few months and ignored it, wasn't until a clutch replacement that the exhaust came off and Bingo a pink tell tale trail inside the down pipe. the puma doesn't have much "room" for loosing water until it overheats so keeping the coolant inside is a much more sensitive issue.
A few months back I had a radiator split on the series, wasn't until it had spat 1/2 the water out that I noticed the temp gauge getting above half way that something was amiss. Rolling Eyes Also can be found on Fb, Ytube, Insta & Twitter @4WDSouthwest

Cylinder head has had a very, very light skim and pressure tested OK.

Fingers crossed the EGR cooler arrives tomorrow.

I don’t think so, although I will ask. The head barely needed a skim. Charlie
