I find my 2.4 DCPU also cools much better if you drop a gear and up the revs...maybe the water pump is too slow for the heat created by the torquey engine up long drags?!
Mine lost power last year towing a caravan up a very long hill and I'm convinced it was purely heat that did it...never done it again, but probably due to me watching the temps on the BAS jobby and seeing how they fluctuate. New rad is on the cards sometime as the fins have seen better days on current one! |

Unfortunately, after the garage put everything back together the conclusion is - I need a new engine ![]() The compression pressure on 3 cylinders is below 18 BARs ;-( So, just to make a conclusion - the engine condition has probably been worsening in the last few years thus overheating... Turbo failed, maybe because the oil was to hot etc... Anyway - new engine it is ;-( Bergos LR Defender 110 HT 2007 (2.4 Puma) https://www.facebook.com/LR.Wanderlust/ |
