18,000 miles of mixed driving since October with issues. When they need replacing I’ll just use my local indi. Eiger Grey MY23 D250 SE with bits. Known as Noddy.

Brake pass and rotors should last 100000km or more. They are good quality TRW units. Got 120000km out of the TRW rotors on the D4

Brake vibration/judder
Mine have been vibrating when warm since 10,000 miles now at 29,000 worse. The response from JLR is below. I have only been driving land rovers for 40 years. Clearly I need lessons!

As discussed, I put a goodwill case down with JLR to replaced your disks and pads due to warping. Sadly I have just received there reply which is as follows: "We would not look to support this due to the fact this is not a deemed as a manufacturing defect. Brake discs warp when subjected to rapid cooling after harsh braking - this is due to driving style, not a fault with the discs. As confirmed by our technical team."

I have a friend who’s first 110 had 3 sets of discs by 40k miles 3 years old, his new 110 managed to get to 8k miles before it needed new front discs …. JLR & Brembo are just mugging owners with a poor quality component.

Your friend should learn some mechanical sympathy. His driving style must be absolutely atrocious. I am sure he will say he drives normally, but maybe he does not realize how much and how hard he uses his brakes. 8000 miles on a set of pads and disks?

I cruised a D2 up and down the M25 on daily commute and in winter I had corrosion issues on both rear discs. I brought it in the be checked and it was confirmed all was fine. "You you have to brake harder to keep them clean" was the diagnostic. Is called defensive driving.

Please correct me if l am wrong but,

lf you use the "brake hold" when stationary then l am told this uses the brakes, not great if you just came down a long hill and get stopped in traffic.

Maybe use the "handbrake" instead as this appears to work in a different way.
