Just to update this further, I went into a different dealership today and just said that I had a brake judder and could they have a look at it, one of the service guys went out with me and even before we got to the end of the road he confirmed it has brake judder! It's probably just the fronts but they will look at the rears when it goes in. It's booked in for November 9th and they have said if it is warped discs they will be replaced under warranty. So hopefully it will be sorted in a couple of weeks. Thumbs Up Cheers Ian

Great result.

My wife has started juddering fairly significantly, although with 20k on the clock I should think I'm in for a large bill ! https://www.instagram.com/hustynminepark/

Well I have the car back and it's fixed and all covered under warranty. They said the discs were warped and that there is a 0.1 allowance, the lady on reception didn't know what the 0.1 measurement was but I'm going to assume either millimetres, centimetres or metres Rolling Eyes Laughing The n/s/f was 0.3 out and the o/s/f was 0.4 out, they checked the rear discs and they were fine. They also carried out a recall while it was in and I was told that they replaced the power steering idler and the belt Rolling Eyes Laughing Cheers Ian

Well done, sadly mine occurred too late (or rather I reported it too late) to be able to claim under warranty. £350 of parts and a few hours of my time to swap the discs/pads was preferable to the LR quote of nearly four times that.

Excellent result, Dan. It's a pity the dealer response seems to be "postcode dependant" Shocked Current vehicle: 2020 Defender 110S

more like they charge you for the work, then claim warranty on it from jlr....

not many good dealers in the jlr network around us that's for sure.

2022 Defender XS 110 - 12 month old and 3,000 miles brake judder due corrosion on inner front discs… warranty declined and quoted £940 for new discs & pads.
On 20 inch wheels so new discs are £220 each.

Discs are manufactured by Brembo under copyright due to disc being bonded to alloy hub that goes on wheel studs.

The vehicle lives in a urban area and never seen mud.

Discs get changed tomorrow so can have a look at inner face were corrosion had taken place.

So I have dilemma ahead …. Next set of discs will rust in next 12 months and need changing so the vehicle is no good for my use…. My Defender 90 Tdi had new discs in 2009 & given no problems over 30,000 miles

This is a concern.

I changed the discs and pads on my old Defender and they lasted 90,000 miles and were still okay.

So far my new D250 has done 7,000 miles with no issues.

£900 for two discs and pads replacement is excessive. If it happens to mine and it's not under warranty l'll take the discs off and get them skimmed.

My local machine shop will do this for £60. They say once discs have warped and been skimmed they won't warp again.

Yes, I agree with you - vehicle is at a LR independent workshop with full machine shop.

Am just disappointed that JLR spout luxury & sustainability but can not put a set of discs on a vehicle that can do 30k miles at least !
