Somewhere to buy parts (lights) in Spain??
Hi folks,

Just as the title says we're in Spain and have just had an unscheduled tree vs rear lights incident.

This isn't a case of new light bulbs - I'll need an indicator and a brake/tail lights. Mine are LEDs but anything will do.

I've taken 101 spares, but always the case that you don' t have the thing you end up needing.

We're on the eastern edge of the Bardenas Real - near Eija de le Caballero (or something like that).

I'll have a Google for dealers, but if they're anything like the ones at home I guess they'll faint when a '94 Defender rolls up.

Anyone any hot tips for this?

I'm also wishing I'd taken time to fit the O/S bumperette..... Donald

Oh no Donald Rolling Eyes Hang on there aren't any trees on the Bardenas Reales Whistle

So, Paddocks and Craddocks and LR Direct will post to Spain. Camp sites are usually good with having post delivered.

I cannot help much in country but there is a 4x4 garage in Zaragoza https://www.4x4proyect.com/comprar/land-ro...o/defender Has Land Rover parts on its website.

Good luck. If all else fails I am happy to post out to you from here.

Thank you. Yeah, very few trees out there, but we finished the section later in the day than we'd hoped so went for the first/nearest campsite and it's pretty tight with 'invisible' trees. Just task loading when tired.

Being LEDs, though the lens is knackered, and half of the LEDs don't work, there is still an indicator 'in theory'. The panel behind has taken a knock too so I'll likely have to replace that when I get home - but that means any surface mounted indicator and brake/tail light would do.

I don't really want to sit in this particular site for 2 or 3 days waiting for a UK supplier's parts to arrive so I think I'll go to a nearby garage in the morning which gets good reviews and see if they have anything generic. I've got my 'leccy tools and a selection of crimp connectors, so if I get my hands on some lights I can make them work.

There's some on a neighbouring camper van... : Whistle

But if anyone else has a cunning suggestion I'm all ears.. Donald

Thanks Keith - that certainly is helpful. The sort of lateral thinking I've not been capable of yet. I have a 7pin socket on the car, and a 13pin adapter in the cubby. Thanks very much for highlighting another option.

If we did this, and planned ahead for a campsite towards the back end of next week we could even get a UK supplier to send there and do a more permanent repair then

Good one Thumbs Up Donald

Any garage or car parts can order them next day if they don't have any in stock if you have the part number. Britpart are quite well established in Spain. I've had several bits this way on my trips

Hi guys,

Thanks very much for the further posts and my apologies for not coming back to this. It's funny how time flies when you're camping and moving each day and doing the route work/leading for our wee team.

We did go into Tudela and went hither and thither. Eventually the only sensible solution was Keith's idea of a towbar in a branch of Norauto. Thanks again Keith for that pointer. Thumbs Up

As you can see it's a shorter one for carrying bikes, rather than trailer sized and it's perfect for what I've needed it for.

That got us moving and I've chosen to live with it for the last 5 or 6 days.

We're a day, maybe two away from the Med now so I'll turn my mind to identifying a campsite or hotel we could book and have a set sent there, but I'm quite satisfied that what we have serves perfectly well to give other drivers a good idea of what we're doing. Donald
