Hi all

Question - If the gas is very low in the A/C system will that stop the compressor starting?

Yes. They have a trinary switch.

A high, medium and low switch.

The high and low control the compressor and the Ned controls the cond fan.

The refrigerant r134a carries the oil around the system, no gas means the compressor would loose lubrication so the low pressure switch is there to save the system from self destruction
