Bet they don't offer it in 255/85x16 though.

Never been able to get my head around this. It just absolutely has got to sell like hot cakes. A sensible width 33-33.5" tyre that has road manners and practicality, coupled with adequate off-road performance for skilled users. Even more suitable given modern traction control. There just has to be a good technical reason why they don't do it, there has to be? They could almost charge what ever they like for this mythical perfect tyre..... |

Just to add, I have a special interest in this as my 2015 set of 5 x 255/86R16 KM2 MT's are getting to end of life and the equivalent AT would be the very top of the replacement list provided they didn't undersize them.
Come on BFG, You have maybe 1-2yrs to get your shizzle in order! |

I got worried by the title at first as I just fitted some BFG KM3s last week.
Looking at those sizes, they really know how to completely eliminate a large amount of their customer base on 16" wheels, don't they? I guess people will go for KO2s as long as they stay available, and then gravitate towards other brands - well done, BFG. Also, I don't like that that Tire Rack website allows reviews for unreleased products... how can you review something you haven't even tried yet? 2003 90 TD5 Hardtop |

If enough of us left a review slamming them for not making 255/85x16 perhaps they'd get the message!

I am sure that they started popping up with influencers at the back end of 22/early 23 and that is how they can claim verified user experience (taken to an experience camp plus a set for their mall crawlers). There was chat on this forum at the time about the lack of stock of KO2's being related to what was expected to be a 2023 summer release for the KO3 so I wonder why they have pushed back into 2024 - OE prioritisation for all production or has there been production volume issues in the first batches stopping after market launch this year. |

They have been prioritising OE and the US market, and in the grand scheme of things, the market for a 255 is actually very small compared to many of the other sizes they manufacture so not really surprising that they don’t offer it.

I don't think it would sell like hot cakes. It isn't a factory size, so nobody bar those modding would be interested. 16" is also oddball for the USA. Jeeps and the like had 15" rims, then 17 and 18". They never really used 16" as a size. And even the vehicles that do use it, such as Discos and RRs, it won't fit without lots of mods. So is really limited to only a handful of oddball vehicles in small markets. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see more choice in this size as it is indeed great for a Defender. But the brutal reality is, the market for this size must be miniscule. |

It has always struck me as a little odd that BFG makes the KM in 255/85x16 but not the KO. Different markets, different demographics I guess, but it is frustrating.

Is it just me that finds KO2s a bit naff on wet tarmac? I’ve gone from 16” Cooper STs to 18” KO2s and whilst they’re quieter and decent enough for most off road surfaces, in the wet they don’t fill me with confidence.
