United Kingdom 2009 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 USW Stornoway Grey
My Defender 2
Hi, I'm new to the forum, although I've been reading and learning for the past couple of weeks. Completed the purchase of an 09 110 CSW Utility today, my second Defender. I had a 99 90 TD5 Hard Top a few years back and thought it time to renew my aquaintance with the brand once more. Usage will be 90% roadwork and 10% light off roading. I'm a motorcycle road racing photographer (IOMTT etc.) and sometimes need something a bit more robust than a Ford Focus. And of course without justification I want one! Collecting it next week.

No pics yet but it's fairly standard, in grey, with tow bar, rear step, side steps and the addition of heated seats and screens. It has had 2 LR main dealer services and is showing 12,000 on the clock. Pretty much wiped me out but I've a few pounds left for some stuff. I've ordered the following;

Waxoyling
Lockable cubby box
Clutch claw
Fuel imobiliser
Mud extended seat rails for the drivers side only (lanky git)
Stainless bolts for the door hinges (rusty ones bug me!)
Rear load mat

........and thinking of;

A BearCoat box
Chequer plate sills and wing tops
Cargo nets for the load space

Are there any other popular suggestions, recommendations, do's and don'ts?

Welcome!

Having also just bought a new Defender, I have also added:

Nakatanenga Glove Box
Noisekiller Sound Proofing
Oil change (engine & gearbox as a minimum)
Check Temp temperature guage
on 110's, then suggest you re-enforce the rear mudflap hangars, or they'll fail after a few thousand miles...

Enjoy! Thumbs Up

BTW...it's a religious argualemnt I know, but Dinitrol seems a lot better than waxoyl. Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's)

I am indeed, happy with their service to date. Nice operation they've got down there. "Land Rover Heaven" as my missus called it

Yep - nice bunch of guys, bought my Td5 from them about 11 months ago and overall have been very pleased. Had a few minor niggles initially. Nothing drastic and they sorted them for me. I think their operation has expanded massively in last year or so.

Would agree with Fekete.... Ask for £100 back and drop the clutch claw and go for the Safe t pedal ase that he's got or perhaps the Adrenelin4x4 pedal lock that a few guys on here got recently. I got a clutch claw from those guys too at the time and I don't really rate it (Not LRUK's fault).

On the fuel imobiliser - will PM you - Nothing sinister just an observation from my experience Jon - 110 td5 [sold]. Currently Defenderless.

Be patient for a few days and you might find a price in GBP £ appearing on this forum! Wink

My neighbour, 110 csw, recommended the Clutchclaw but thanks for the advice I'll discuss it with LRUK.

Going off subject, but I always wondered why they hadn't made these so that instead of just locking the pedals up it actually depresses the brake pedal so the car can't be towed.

It wouldn't even be too hard to make if the lock was over the brake pedal and you made it big enough so when your forced it in (to lock it) it depressed the brake pedal. Or is there one out already? Nick
