the VW camper boys have this also.

whilst inside the camper, the fridge box will slide open, into the camper walk area, then you lift the fridge lid.
when outside the 'slam' door is open and the fridge can slide outside and then open the fridge lid.

I have a trailer which has a similar operation. on the outside I open an upright locker door, gives me access the spirits optics.
When inside the trailer I open an internal (caravan style) wood door to get to the same compartment.

Dual access cupboard Thumbs Up

I'll see if I have photos of it.

I know that the double sided slide solution exists but the Dometic slide only works one way plus the slide rails are completely protected because they are in a closed frame. OTOH the Dometic slide isn‘t cheap.
A double way slide would not work in the new Def as the rear seats aren‘t completely flat. So the fridge would have to be mounted too high.
I could have fixed the slide directly on rails but this way the fridge would not be protected and I would loose place. 22MY Defender 110 (actual) | 10MY Freelander 2 (history) | 15MY Discovery Sport HSE (history)

Latest upgrades to my Defender
Finally I installed my lightbar and windshield cubes on my Defender.

The lamps were long enough on my workbench. I installed the OSRAM Lightbar VX1000-CB SM on the original LR roofrack using Powerful Uk clamps.
https://www.powerfuluk.com/vehicles/land-r...-l663.html

The clamps for the windshield lamps OSRAM Cube VX70-WD were ordered from Sailtek Motorsport in the USA.

https://saltekmotorsports.com/product/ditch-light-brackets/

Fitting instructions are on their page.

All these lamps are connected to an AUXBEAM 8 Gang Switch Panel controller from eBay from a Chinese seller.

https://www.ebay.de/itm/394243754778?hash=...R5in4pm7Yg

The controller is fixed to a self-made aluminium plate which is fixed in the motor bay. Just one cable goes from the controller inside the cockpit to the remote control panel. I still have to fix that one. I'm experimenting with a PLA 3D printed fixation.

All cables are connected via AMP connector (fiddling experience Big Cry )
Unfortunately I could not get both cables of the windshield lamps to rest connected together so I had to connect each individually. Now I use 2 buttons.

The DIY 3 mm aluminium plate fixed with 2 6mm screws.

The switch panel controller fixed to the plate with the emergency fuse and switch. Theoretically the included battery was to short so the switch isn't fixed at the moment. but works. I drove more than 1000 km with no issues. I will change this setup.

The remote controller cable routed inside the cockpit via the walled grommet.

Lamps can be set to ON / OFF or WHEN PRESSED ON / WHEN RELESED OFF or STROBE MODE. All controllable via smartphone app too.

Plus it is possible to regroup lamps.

Instead of the windshield clamps I wanted the LAZER clamps which integrate into the A pillars but LAZER told me this is not possible with a snorkel mounted. Mad Would have been a better design. 22MY Defender 110 (actual) | 10MY Freelander 2 (history) | 15MY Discovery Sport HSE (history)

Great job Bow down I have the lightbar and brackets from Powerful also and I have a similar switch but mine is a no-name one from Aliexpress (it was cheap though) I have had them lying around for a good while so must make an effort to get them fitted before winter. I like the way you have mounted the control panel and fuse to the aluminium panel, that's a great idea, do you have the rough dimensions of the plate you used please, I'll get a suitable 3mm aluminium plate ordered. I also need to figure how to mount the actual switch unit as I had intended to go through the big roundish grommet and mount it in a similar place to yours. Thumbs Up

Hi Ian

I think your switch is the same as mine.

The problem with the position I mounted it, I have to demount it every time I want to connect another cable. It's a job of 5 minutes. One doesn't have enough access.
The lower part of the plate is bent 90° backwards for stability (not needed) but this way eventually water can flow down without sacrifying the switch (though it should be waterproof.)

For the holes red marks, I drilled t 6.5mm holes but had to redrill as there was missing some millimeters.

here's a pseudo CAD (made in Pages on my Mac)

Punching the grommet isn't so difficult if you go according to these instructions.
But You don't need to remove wipers and wiper shields.

https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/2178/426...1630502139

The remote controller will be fixed to a 3D printed form.

Something like this still fiddling around where to put the holes.

A ready made plate is available here

https://saltekmotorsports.com/product/righ...0-bracket/
Please check this page for helpful ideas

Especially which fuse to take very important as the switch should only work when the motor is running.

https://landroverforums.com/forum/2020-def...934/page2/

I hope you do find the time to do it. It took me several days of work (not used to do things like that on an expensive new car Very Happy )

Thanks Manou that's really helpful Bow down I had seen the Saltek brackets before but I thought he was only doing LHD ones, although the postage to the UK is rather steep so I was going to try and make my own and your drawings are helpful. Thumbs Up Cheers Ian

I payed 59 US$ postage plus 30€ taxes for delivery to Luxembourg for the windshield clamps which did cost 110 US$

If my 3D printed plate works I will post it here. 22MY Defender 110 (actual) | 10MY Freelander 2 (history) | 15MY Discovery Sport HSE (history)

Auxbeam Controller Holder
Hi everybody interested…

I have finished my Auxbeam Controller holder for the new Defender 110 (probably it works with the other models too)

I choose a 1.5mm thick aluminium plate, I wanted 2 mm but didn't find it. The 1.5 mm is enough an it is easier to bend.

I'm still working on my 3D printed version.

The plate is fixed with 1 screw only and 2 sided adhesive (3M). I wanted to use the 2 screws but apparently when cutting my card board it looked ok a the aluminium model was missing some mm.

But the construction is sturdy enough.

Here are the pics and plans LHD and RHD (for UK) versions.

Please print the plans in 100% size so they should be right to use. But don't drill the holes (red circles) only later when everything is double checked. For me at least measuring according to plans never works. So I install the plate and mark the places where to drill.
Those who have access to laser cutter can do it more accurately. I used a cutting disc, handsaw and Dremel.

Use the included holder to find where to drill the holes for the screws and cable.

Reinstalled the rubber mat (had to cut away some part)
So here's the order number for the LHD version.

Covers reinstalled… finished

All lights work

Even group lights work now. Instead of pressing 2 buttons I just need to press either of the windshield cubes buttons. (Is set up via smartphone app)

Here are the plans for LHD and RHD cars. Please remember to print them 100% scaled. And the red holes aren't on the right places.

One last word:

This weekend I was at a medieval festival in Bouillon (Belgium) after sunset we drove to the highest hill in the region through dark off road forests.

The lights do illuminate everything: really very bright.

But the OSRAM VX1000 needs to be fixed with not just the 2 clamps from Powerful UK. There is some wiggling but not very much. 2 more clamps would be better.

Voltmeter installed
At the same occasion I installed a Bluetooth voltmeter too. So I can see how well all my gadgets, lamps, fridge, Bluetti Battery, iPhones (wife and kids) eat up my energy.
It seems ok it's always around 14.26V to 14.5V while driving!

There's an app to check this via Bluetooth.

Manou, I promise I'm not copying you, I like to think of it as great minds think alike Whistle Laughing

I've had one of these on my old V8 as it doesn't do much mileage and I've just got one for the new Defender.
