It really depends on the condition of your balls (the swivel balls I mean) 🤣
If they are pitted or rusting, replacing the seal only will only contain the grease for a few months, and you would have to do the job again. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing

Btw, on a Puma, it is better to ensure that the swivels keep the grease properly in, and keep the water and crud out. A failed CV joint on a Puma means a complete new half shaft. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing

Be aware that the assembly you will be pulling out is pretty heavy. I have in the past found that putting the wheel back on and resting it on a shovel helps, since you can drag the shovel away from the vehicle and withdraw the assembly most of the way without actually having to hold it off the ground.

An offspring's skateboard (if you have an offspring) might be even better.

I am hoping the method i was used to with patrols and landcruisers (i.e. giving them a slight sanding to remove the highs) will give me a few extra months too....

Yeh thats a great idea as no doubt that lump of metal is heavy. Just hoping that the recently replaced rod ends means they are stuck in like a MF!!
