Sealing gaps at corners of 2nd row floor
Afternoon all,

After fitting the rear floor panel on my rebuild, there are gaps in the four corners which obviously need sealing up somehow (see photo below).

there is no metal lip below the floor in these areas hence the gap, even though i applied neoprene seal around the whole perimeter.

Cheers,

That is (rather shamefully) completely normal. My DC left the factory with some unidentifiable black gunge pressed into the holes, which fell out not long afterwards, the holes now serve as useful drain holes.

Unfortunately most of the water they end up draining is water which they have allowed in, so filling them may be beneficial. I have noted on several occasions that when fording there can be several inches of water in the rear footwell and yet virtually nothing in the front, the rear undoubtedly lets more in, probably because of these large holes or "fitting anomalies".

cheers both,

I already have some of that Woolies caulking strip so will add it to the list of bits to address where I can see daylight where I shouldn't be able to!

Thanks Steve 02' 110 TD5 Double Cab Rebuild Thread
