Appreciate this may sound a bit on the bling and expensive side of things for what it is, but thought I might share anyway. I have black 16" bowler wheels on my Puma 110, and like the screws holding my drive flanges to be black and not rusty, as they are on display.
I have had several iterations of black socket head cap screws as replacement, including Britpart DA1128 ones, which all got rusty rather quickly. Only good thing was they had smaller heads than hex screws so less risk of damaging the wheels center bore when the wheel is being removed/installed for whatever reason. I supposed I could have gone for zinc plated ones and painted them black, but I'm not good at painting. Anyway, so tried some black titanium M10x45 1.5mm pitch screws from China from these guys (no relation) https://www.wanyifabolt.com/products/wanyi...5912528056 Original LR hex head screw are 10.9 grade, and the titanium ones are grade 5, which from what I understand should be pretty close when it comes to tensile specification. Plus they are resistant to corrosion. I have had them on for a year now, all good so far, none have moved or gone rusty, happy. /Mat  Click image to enlarge |

Fasteners made fron hard materials will only gall with themselves or other similarly hard materials. There is no galling danger into the cast hubs at all. 02' 110 TD5 Double Cab Rebuild Thread
