Get a BAS remap to keep the EGR closed. Your fuel consumption will improve and you won't have to worry about the EGR sticking again Thumbs Up

When Ive been turning my truck off lately it seems alot louder and different sometimes to its usual chukka chukka, thought I heard it whilst on the move today, turned everything off opened the window and yep definitely makes a chukka chukka whilst on the move, my mpg has dropped from 30 down to 27 to?! 90 Puma HT

Had a go in a brand new 2.4 Puma a few weeks back, and the EGR cleaning cycle was almost silent. Mine on the other hand certainly makes itself heard. Never heard it whilst driving though.

Still seems to be doing its job fine, no difference to economy or performance.

that doesn't sound normal. The EGR should not be self-cleaning while the engine is running Shocked

get it checked out asap --

I don't think so. Mine gunked up after running the standard tune non-EGR map for 6000km despite using 2SO with every tank.

These days the landy is at the stealer so often that the EGR gets cleaned almost once a week - I always revert to OEM map before giving them the car. --

All 2.4 engines have an EGR that self-cleans after shutdown. It could be that yours is malfunctioning? --
