LR OEM led lights
Sorry another post so soon.

been looking at the possibilities re installing led lights to rear of new wagon, to increase the visibility and save changing bulbs every so often.

Wanted to know if anyone had any experience of the OEM kit from Landrover, there is a kit on Duckworths parts at IIRC £480 ish which provides all rear lights in clear led finish, also look bigger so guess they must be NAS size. Used on the SVX model I believe.

Just wondered how they compared to others, I have seen the mobile centre kits, they look good albeit in standard size rather than all the same (which wifey has decreed 'look good!)

I'm guessing if they are supplied and fitted (by land rover before delivery) they might be covered under the warranty?

i like the river runner sets with the DRL optrion from mobile centre

can't see them warrenting a retro fitted set of LED lights though

DJ - Mobile centre do the LR OEM lights in OEM size, and in both clear (as SVX) and coloured versions. They're cheaper than Land Rover too, and Tim's a great bloke.

Remember that yuo'll need some sort of resistor if you go the LED route, to get rid of the 'fast flash' issue.

Cheers for that ,I didn't realise that Tim did the larger svx style clear lights, been on to him this morning and all explained clearly, TBo I was beginning to lose the plot a bit.

Tim cleared everything up so it's going to be a full set of rear,clear 95mm led lights which apparently will screw straight into the existing fittings, so a nice easy quick job. So wifey (style guru will be happy) probably not the best for retaining the 'original look' but at least they will be seen from the rear, and if I want to be original I'll use the 90 Very Happy

I'll post back when I have them fitted, hopefully with pictures.

I believe that's going to be in the 'kit' that Tim is sending (when I place the order) as I did ask about it after reading some posts here about erratic flashing etc. (not a spelling mistake!)

I found that out today from Tim, they must be 'normal' bulbs.

The Duckworth site lists indicators in the LED kit so I assumed they would be led's by apparently not. Good job you guys are on the case, I've obviously asked the right people. Thumbs Up I'd have been a bit peeved to spend £570 on a LED light to find that some were not led's!

£500 is hell of a lot of money to pay for a kit of parts that can be assembled for about £220 if you do some research with internet based auto electric suppliers.

The 95mm stop/tail LED lamps can be had for about £28 each, fog light is about the same, reversing light is the expensive one at about £75. Lenses for normal lamp indicators are about £12 each - saves messing about with the indicator relay, but if you want the LED ones are again about £28. These are all Perei light units and are available in coloured or clear.

Get the ones with wire ends and fit econoseal male connectors to them, this avoids the need for a link cable which is needed if you buy the lamps with a superseal connector built in - Landrover charges about £70+vat for this Shocked

You will need plinths for the stop/tail and indicator lights, the Landrover one for LED lights is LR009773 at about £7 each, note the central hole is smaller than the normal plinths so if you use bulbs for your indicators you will need a pair of standard plinths which are about £5 each and modify the mounting holes in these plinths.

Nice looking wagon, just the size lights I wanted - hoping they'll be a bit brighter for others to see from behind, its clear for me though (I've been told) I'll be fitting them at the weekend.

I'd agree with that which is why I posted for suggestions and options, I think I've got what I wanted for a reasonable price (nowhere near £570 odd for LR supplied ones thankfully)

what about LED bulbs in standard lenses?

you can get the 360 deg bulbs now so no blind spots

Too late now I'm afraid I have flexed the plastic (again)
