Did the D200 to 300 now for half a year, and its makes the car from fun to a real joy on the road, off road no real big gains

Ill start by saying Ive never been into remapping cars,,

That negativity aside...from what i can see there are some different hardware configurations for factory looking through parts etc, theres things that arent applicable when you select the different engine power.

One thing that would worry me, the D300's were pulled due to higher than normal failures, so along side hardware i would be worried the d300 increases the chance of a failure. Mike

Thanks for the input guys.

Factory maps are to cover the various fuels and barometric pressures and varied driving/maintenance. They can always be personalised/improved.

A remap doesn't break a car if done correctly and is unique to your engine, and more power doesn't necessarily increase the chance of failures, it's all subjective.

I tow our race car often so more torque is always welcome, and the only way to acheive this is with ecu software changes on my Defender/tractor.

I hold vast experience in this area, I just wanted info. on who's had a quality map that caused no issues as I've encountered pretend mappers on several occassions so far, and it's just boring and time-consuming going back and forth.

The 3.0 diesel delivers 350bhp in the Range Rover. But l won't be remapping my D250, it's plenty powerful enough even when towing the caravan, l've never had it flat out in normal driving. Perhaps a couple of times when overtaking but l normally like to just cruise, it's a 2.5 tonne SUV not a sports car.

It’s not about flat out.
It’s about wafting around with a lot more torque and less effort to move the heavy 2.5 tonne defender. Including towing. It’s effortless, to the point after driving for hours I’ll have to check if the trailer is still there… Smile feels nothing is on tow…

My D250 feels effortless, as if there's nothing on tow.

l imagine the D200 may be slightly lacking but the one l test drove seemed okay.

My D200 tows effortlessly too, I’ve never found it wanting regardless of how much weight I’m carrying.

I see eveeyone is saying the hardware for the engine is the same from 200 to 350. But when I ordered mine I'm sure the 300 had bigger brakes than my 250.
So although the engine gets you there, if you are using brakes for the 250, you might regret getting the 300 110 D250 SE HT

Thats true but it has different configurations, NVH etc and like ive said im sure the hardware isnt the same, its why the engine build has parts differences between different engines Mike

Source for D300 having higher than normal failures?

They only sold the D300 here in Japan, then from last year with MY25 the D350. Have not heard about engine failures here. 22MY Defender 110 D300 S in Pangea Green and Contrast White Roof

Here in Spain only the D250 remained, the D300 has gone and the 350 never arrived... I don't know the reason, maybe it's just due to commercial strategies, but the fact is that it is like that!! Defender 110 SE I6 D250 23MY

My son used Venture Automotive in Bolton to remap his D200 to LR D300 file. No issues, and he’s very happy with it. That was last July when it was close to end of 3 year warranty.
