it should be a 200 tdi at the age.
rust it will have.... running and driving no issues its worth something to someone start at scrap value for it and work upwards as recovery costs and recommissioning will soon add up |

Hi Carman
?si=nkp9MGkjcQrNcXVc Work your way through Sophie's 5 part series. The main issues appeared to be the hidden rust behind the aluminium outer panels. So difficult to tell from your picture, so i hope her documented experience helps you. Worth noting, this young lady also rebuilt a Defender axle in the downstairs WC at her parents house! Good luck A friend of mine many years ago managed to get a Japanese import, as they don't use road salt it was mint. |

Thanks guys.
Those videos are a real eye opener and definitely not the sort of project I was wanting by a long way! Time for a reality check maybe |

Going by the steering wheel and the mirrors it's 300tdi.
Yeah a 3 door has a less common number still on the road than the 5 door variants, still not enough to sway the value vastly, they are still disco's and they all corrode in the same places. Mostly any of the inner steel frame. Battery box, inner wing, sill, boot floor, roof and rear arches to name the most typical rot spots. A historical or noteworthy Reg will be minor plus on value. IMO it's worth a nose as if it's been undercover then it won't of got damp and rotten like many, The likes of Project jay would be keen to see it saved as I said 3drs are not as plentiful as they once was. given 6 ish years of limited use then you will be looking at brake work (calipers - pads etc) a good look at rubber items flexis tyres etc as you say as they do perish over the years. Without more pictures It's hard to say if it's a brief resto to a full rebuild. no mentions of corrosion in the MOT suggests all is ok underneath maybe not clean but not bad. as for value a rough one is about £1000 - £1500 Out of mot or little work to mot £1500 - £3000 I've seen road ones from £1750 to concourse ones at £10000+ The market is slowing a bit and thankfully the idiots have moved onto D2's and 3's to tear arse around the lanes on so good D1's hopefully can be found and saved. Again condition is key but it sounds promising, From the picture and your description I would ball park it at £1750 - £2000 but it's not a guarantee and don't quote me as info is limited. A couple of quick questions: 1. An guide as to scrap value would give me a good starting point 2. Ditto trailered collect/delivery cost per mile as a guide Thanks. |
