Potentially in the market for a 130

Hi all,

Following a post on the intro thread, just wanted to say hello and that I may be in the market for a 130 (MY 22/23/24) in the next few months.

Trying to do some research on any common issues, what to look out for, best options, etc

Car will be used in Kenya for travelling daily and on safari (mainly to camps and safari parks, actual game drives on suitable camp vehicles) so need something reliable

Other option is the toyota lc300 but really want to go Defender (FFRR is the other car in the garage).

Welcome all thoughts and info/help

As well as if anyone is looking to offload a 130 HSE in the next few months

Hi, I bought a 24MY 130 last April and have had no issues apart from leaky washers on the headlamps and reversing camera. A bit of cracking on the steering wheel leather. Driving wise I’ve covered about 10000 miles without any problems at all. I tow a 2500kg caravan all over the European continent which it does without complaint. Towing the fuel consumption is about 22mpg but on a run solo goes up to 33-38mpg. I have the Expedition rack and ladder as well as the side gear box fitted externally and all is very useful. I fitted an ARB single cylinder compressor so keep the air lines and tow hook in the gear box fitted externally internally I have the boot storage box which levels the boot floor and helps hide away all the stuff that usually rolls around in the boot. I have a tablet mount up front and a drop down table on the rear door for tea on the go. It’s all very civilised and everything is easy and comfortable.
