To be honest it’s worthwhile running new wiring and leaving the factory wiring in situ, because it’s dia is quite small from the factory it isn’t designed to take much load.
It’s AC voltage, but all the same the factory wiring is only really designed to take relatively low wattage. It depends on what power source you are intending to use, the factory system even for the factory fitted speakers is mot designed for anything really beyond 50wrms per channel. |

I can't remember what I found when I installed the same tweeters in mine (see this thread https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic55496.html ). But as it happens I'll be be back behind the dash again soon as a new head unit is coming for Christmas so I will report back then.
(Note- this is a replacement in order to have DAB as the standard one was sufficient for my middle-of-the-road requirements and I wanted brand compatibility with the previous upgrades- https://www.alpine.co.uk/p/Products/SingleView/ute-204dab ) Cheers, Guy. |

Don’t know if this helps but I seem to remember unsoldering the connections from the original Land Rover tweeters and re soldering them to my new tweeters so I could use the original plug connector.
