FRONT BUMPER LIGHTS WIRING
So I got this Defender, and it already had bumper lights, but they were acting up – sometimes they’d turn on, other times not. While troubleshooting, I found that if I disconnected one light, two others would work, but the fourth wouldn’t, and it kept going like that.

When I restored and repainted the front bumper, I figured it was a good time to upgrade to a new set of lights (these ones: link).

But now, these new lights won’t work at all. They didn’t come with any wiring diagram, so I’m kinda stuck. Any advice on how to get these working would be awesome!

No link for the lights Thumbs Up

But I would start with a single light, and a fused supply direct to battery and test each light in turn, so you know each light works, and what is pos, and what is neg on lights.

Next step would be to check current wiring, and make sure it is fused. Then wire one light to what should be the supply, and see what you are getting. If no light then go backwards through the wires and see how and what has been done, and I would assume you’ll find a relay somewhere that will require testing.

Once you know what you’ve got, link the lights, and do the installation.

The alternative is just to rip out the old and start from fresh yourself

Those look like LED daytime running lights. As such each pair will have a DRL controller and it’s likely a fault with one of them or its wiring that’s the problem. Each controller is likely to be located behind the headlights , that’s where I put mine.

I suspect you need new controllers that are compatible with your new LED DRLs

The DRL LED light SHOULD NOT be directly connected to the battery, it is fed by a controller that provides the correct current and voltage. You need to locate the controller for each pair of DRLs and test them.

the old lights had two controllers (vinstar drl module), one for each pair.

these controllers are identical to the new ones that came, so first I attached them directly to the old ones and when they didn't work I made pass through the new controllers. still nothing
