Have you got the spring clips on the centre panel in place?
And also, you can tweak the entire dash a little, but you shouldnโt need to. Be very careful there is not a trapped cable at the side or the rear, sometimes a cable at the rear wheel fully installed โhomeโ it can push the chassis of the HU to the side causing miss alignment, bearing in mind the HU needs as much ventilation as possible and the fan if present to the rear kept as free as possible so keeping wiring as far away from it as possible is a good idea. Are you sure the rear mount bracket isnโt putting it out of alignment, I have a feeling with 2DIN that you may need to remove the rear bracket. Metal one to the rear is designed for 1 DIN.
I think the most likely issue you have is a cable or connector in some form blocking the unit from fitting in square, there is more room to the rear left than the rear right, there is a secure void to that area. RCA cables are a favourite as they are more chunky but also a clip on the dash fascia not being quite right can do it as well, where there is t a good fit itโs likely due to a cable. It is a bit tricky as there is only so much room, it can pay to install the entire centre in one rather than the centre dash, then the HU last. Beware of sharp edges, especially the edges of the unit or the DIN cage. KEEP CALM AND Drill ON

I got it to fit, Thanks Custom90,
The problem was the receiver for the centre clip on the dash, it was bending and not staying square. if you looked from the side all looked good but the inner bit was off square, luckily with your suggestion to remove the elec window switches i could feel it wasn't right with a finger. So pushed it in place and everything sits as good as it can. Thanks for all the help |
