Have a word with Defender-legend Pete Bell at BAS Automotive Services, I believe that he can programme your ECM so that the 10AS is completely redundant as far as the immobilisation strategies. If you then remove the 10As you will also lose the alarm, remote locking, central locking, and the courtesy light timer/dimming features.

For TD5 it is possible to modiffy engine ECU to not communicate with 10AS, so no need for any ad on board.
The rest is only bypass 10AS blocking starter relay, so just one wire, and it will run. Thinks like alarm, central locking, ... are a bit different question. It would recomend at least some hidden switch, instead of alarm/immobiliser function of 10AS. "Drobek" = The Small One - Discovery 2, "Blufínek" = The Blue Thing - Defender 130, and for me at least Ford Mondeo |

Aha, I failed to notice your mention of TD5 and was answering with a Puma perspective! Sorry.

Thanks. When you say modify the ECU, is that basically to disable all 10as functions using the nanocom? Understood re starter relay. I have an optimill swivel steering hub, and have added my own central locking. |

TD5 engine ECU is connected do 10AS alarm ECU over one wire. It is used for immobilizer function of engine - no communication, no fuel injection. Engine ECU can be moddified to no need of this wire, but not with Nanocom. Some memory reprogram inside of the ECU is needed. I think, this is better solution, than adding some 10AS simulator board - one think less to stop working. Thanks. I will see if I can figure out what value needs to be written to which address. Will post back if I do. Believe I can dump the ECU image via nanocom, modify, and upload.

It is not in main flash memory. "Drobek" = The Small One - Discovery 2, "Blufínek" = The Blue Thing - Defender 130, and for me at least Ford Mondeo

Any idea where? Or where to find a reference for the ECU that’s more comprehensive than the nanocom docs?
