Hi
I think that a dent repair specialist would be your best port of call. That looks as if it will push out without damaging the paint? Jim |

Hi,
I would say a puller won’t work as well as the dent is too sharp and cannot be pulled out all the way without pulling/deforming the surrounding material outward too far. This needs to be massaged out from behind with a block held against from the outside. I think this can we done without the need to paint from the outside. Make sure they don’t damage the paint on the inside of the wheel arch to avoid corrosion at a later point in time. Respect to your garbage guys for their honesty! |

Best to spray wax on the back of the panel after the repair just in case. Get a can of aerosol wax rustproofer and give it to the dent removal person. |

Funny how classic Defenders are similarly pockmarked and mostly left un-repaired

PDR will get rid of that no problem - I’ve had far far worse successfully removed than that. It needs massaging out from behind - more than likely glue will distort that and you will end up spraying it - which can be detected as spraying changes panel reflections and also you can see excessive paint depth

It may be cheaper to replace all 6 plastic wheel arch trims, for the ones that fit further up the outer arch.

Unless you're either a PDR tech or work in a bodyshop that uses PDR techniques, probably best to just take before and after pictures to confirm you're happy with the result? |
