Side mounted gear carrier L663 ..... mounted left side!?
Hello community

Has anyone ever installed the "gear carrier" with the original bracket on the left side of the vehicle!?
Is it enough to drill another hole Embarassed in the vehicle on the left side and insert a thread there, or is this not stable enough because the thread is only attached to the sheet metal!?

I know that JLR only intended the box for the right side Wink However, I would like to attach a 270 degree awning to the left side, and since I want to attach the ladder and box, the ladder or the box would be on the “wrong” side.

I would be very happy to receive constructive ideas Smile

Greetings Flo

Pretty sure there's not enough sheet metal or reinforced material there to mount the box on the other side. POWERFUL UK does the adapter plates so you can fit the box on polisher side, but then that's using the ladder mounts AFAIK. What about fitting the Awning on the rhs, then you can have the ladder on the correct side and still access the roof with the awning open?

This is the Powerful MOLLE plate bolted to the LR nutserts, then the ladder attached to that plate.

Then the Side-Carrier mounted on a MOLLE plate on the other side.
