Max width on a Wolf Rim
Hola, Salut, Yo.

What's the max width that I can put on a genuine Wolf rim? More specifically I've been offered some Nokian Winter tyres in a 245. Will that work?

I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list.....

A 245 will be no problem. I used to have a set of 255/85 KM3s on Wolfs and they were fine.

Folks say 265 is about the widest you can put on, but they do look a little oddly wide at the top and skinny at the rim. Tyre shops say 235 or 7.50 is the idea size.

Make sure you give those rims a good spray of something protective to keep the road salt out of the groove between the rim and the backing plate. Big rust trap.

Mine have 255 85 16's, no problems. When I refurbished my wheels I rust killed then seam sealed the join. Followed by paint. No rust at the join then!

Thank you all.

The tyres are:

Nokian WR Suv 3
245/70/R16
111H

100€ for 4, 40% usage. Just need them to get me through winter as I'm hanging on desperately for the KO3 release..... Monsieur Le Grenadier

Should be fine.

The US BFG site is handy as they list lots of sizes and rim specs. Just scroll to the bottom where it says view all sizes and find the size you are interested in.

Just found another set of the following at half price.

2021. Under 20% usage.

Nokian Rotiiva 225/70R16 107T XL

Too small for a 110? Monsieur Le Grenadier

The wheels were in good condition to start with, so following sanding I brushed on some rust converter, then used PU sealer ( when dry ) to fill the join, then sprayed them. This then keeps the water out. It’s the stuff they use to stick car body panels together, I bought mine on eBay, there’s several brands and colours, but as far as I can tell it’s all similar. One tube for two wheels should be plenty.
