How to: replace rear tub end panel

Has anyone had any luck replacing the rear tub end panels?

Mine are corroded and and since replacing the inner floor and arches are worse for wear.

Ideally I would like to do it with the tub in situ, is this possible? I think I can slide the panels out and in under the capping? Is this doable?
