Thanks but the description says this is for a 6 pin connector, not the 5 pin connector my TD5 has - anyone know of any available that are a straight swap for the 5 pin ?

Used to have an old VW Polo, 6n1, with a switch that externally looked identical as the LandRover ones. However do not know pin layout.

Looks like switch P/N AMR2496.
I don’t think the LED is available, just get a new one for around £10. |

Discovery 1 switches look very similar to Defender ones but have 6.3mm spade terminals on the back rather than the in-line AMP connectors used on the Defender ones.
I used some on my TD5 retrofit originally. However the terminal layout doesnt look the same as the one you have pictured Steve 02' 110 TD5 Double Cab Rebuild Thread |

The window switches in the OP's post, are from the Britpart electric windows kit DA4664
Click image to enlarge They are not the same as the 300Tdi Discovery-1 and RRC Softdash switch AMR2496 - AMR2496 appears to be the same as the VW switch, and uses the same connector with 6.3mm Standard Timer receptacles - Click image to enlarge . Thanks Paul, very helpful . I think I’ll have to change to the LR 6 pin type, I cannot find just those Britpart switches outside of the kit…
Thanks for the help guys. wadaw |

I've got a couple of the Britpart switches - brand new and unused.
I fitted a couple of these Britpart window kits and used Land Rover switches (YUF101521LNF) with them. If you want them - £10.00 each + £4.65 for 1st class small parcel P&P . Paul. 1989 Arles Blue 2.5TD 110 Hardtop 1999 Epsom Green Discovery II 4.0 V8i 'XS' |

Hello Paul MC,
I am a new user here. I am looking for the Britpart 5 pole switches for a Defender 90 Truck Cab that was converted to Electric Windows from Manual winders. One of the switches is no longer working, and I cannot find a replacement 5 pole switch anywhere Are you still able to assist ? As a new user I am not allowed to PM you until I have posted enough messages ! Thank you Andrew |

Hello Andrew,
I still have a pair of these switches - brand new and unused. The price for the switches is £10 each, I'll have to check what RM are now charging for postage. To increase your post count, go to https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic233.html and introduce yourself. Or, go to https://www.defender2.net/forum/my-defender-vf4.html and tell us about your Defender. Cheers, Paul. Paul. 1989 Arles Blue 2.5TD 110 Hardtop 1999 Epsom Green Discovery II 4.0 V8i 'XS' |

Thank you Paul !
I will get my post count up, and then send you a PM. Please hold these 2 switches for me. I will send you a UK address in my PM that I will be able to collect them from in a few days. My Defender TdCi in Portugal was converted with the Britpart kit. The other day the switch started smoking when activated, and I think this is due to the resistor that drives the LED for the green lighting. I cut off the LED and resistor, and the switch started working again, however it has now stopped lifting the window and only activates the lowering side of the switch. I presume this might be a wiring issue ? The rubber grommet on the door side carrying the central locking and window activation wires is not seated in the door card, and I am trying to find some pictures of how this should seat. I would also like to replace the wiring between the body and the door, since I think there might be a break in a wire. If I jiggle the wires, the switch activates the window up. Any idea of the correct gauge of wire to use here ? Thanks Andrew |
