Just back from workshop- now steering feels heavy

My Defender just came back from the workshop having new brake discs and intercooler and the steering feels off.

I wouldn’t say it’s lost all power steering but it definitely feels heavier.

Any chance the completed works could have knocked something?

Or is it coincidence and where do I start? Local defender specialist has weeks for appointments but I have a friendly mechanic that could look.

Any pointers? Thanks

Intercooler pipe not rubbing on it
? Although it would be unlikely to feel that.

Pas fluid change and not refilled? Cheers

As jst said, check intercooler pipe isn’t sitting on the steering shaft UJ. It does make the steering feel different 2011 130 Utility Body

If they replaced the front discs they might have reset the swivel preload, which could make the steering feel a bit heavier.

lt did on my 110 TD5. l asked my garage to check the swivel preload and they said it was "zero" so reset it on both sides, and once l got the vehicle back the steering was definitely heavier.

I might be over simplifying the problem, but.....How long was it in workshops, and what did you drive in between? I certainly think mine feels heavy when back from hols where I used a hire car, or if we do a long trip in my wife's Audi. Usually 'back to normal' after a couple of days...
